What is Computer ?

The computer is an electronic device the word computer is derived from word compute which means calculation. Computer takes input from the user and processes these data under the control of a set of instructions (called program) and gives the result (output).

Computer Works in three steps:

1 -First it takes Input from the user.

2- Then process it.

3- Finally It gives output as a result.

Charles Babbage is the father of computer.

About Charles Babbage

Charles Babbage, an English polymath, is often referred to as "the man who invented computers." Between 1822 and 1871, he invented three computers, but none of them was ever built due to a lack of funding. The Difference Engine, the first automatic computer, was designed and built by Charles Babbage in 1822. It has the ability to carry out various mathematical operations and deliver tangible copies of the outcomes. With the aid of Ada Lovelace, Babbage developed the Difference Engine. In addition to developing the Difference Engine, Babbage is credited with developing the first computer. Unreasonably, Babbage's shortage of finances prevented him from completing a fully functional prototype of this computer

Analytic Engine

The analytical engine was a proposed mechanical general-purpose computer designed by English mathematician and computer pioneer Charles Babbage.

ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was the first programmable, electronic, general-purpose digital computer, completed in 1945.

Cray-1 was the first supercomputer designed, manufactured and marketed by Cray Research. Announced in 1975.

India's first supercomputer was rolled out in 1991 by CDAC which was named PARAM 8000

PARAM 10000 Developed in 1998

First Calculation Device was Abacus

abacus is a calculating instrument that uses beads that slide along a series of wires or rods set in a frame to represent the decimal places. It is the ancestor of the modern digital calculator.
Mesopotamian or Sumerian is one of the oldest human civilizations. The people of Sumerian civilization used the first abacus for counting.
The word Abacus derived from the Greek word ‘abax’ which means ‘tabular form’. It was said to be invented from ancient Babylon in between 300 to 500 bc. Abacus was the first counting machine.
