What is Computer Hardware ?

Hardware is defined as the physical part or component of a computer system which can be felt, seen, and touched.

The computer monitor we use to view the display is a Hardware Device.

In Computer system following hardware components are available to perform various task.

Motherboard

It is biggest electronic circuit board inside the computer system which holds the CPU main memory and other parts and has slots for expansion cards.

SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply)

It Converts the alternating current into direct current and provides current to the entire computer.

Storage Controller

Storage controller of IDE SCSI or other type that control hard disk floppy disk Cd ROM and other drives the controller sit directly on motherboard (on board) or on expansion cards.

Graphics Controller

It produces the output for the monitor

The hard disk floppy disk and other drives used for mass storage.

Interface controller

Interface controller (parallel , serial, usb, firewire) to connect the computer to external peripheral devices such as printers or scanners.
